What I've Been Up To This Summer, Newborns, Boudoir, 1 year olds, 2 year olds, and Engagement Parties! | Morgantown, WV Photographer

Sorry its been so long since I posted!! I went on a few trips and came back full force ahead with lots of sessions recently! :o)

Here a few shots from the lasts few sessions...

Baby Brantlee came to visit and for a newborn session in June
Momma followed by instructions to a "T" and this allowed for great posing!

June sessions also included a boudoir, 2 make up lessons for KOP (Kassandra Olgers Photography), and a mini session of my 9 month old niece.  I exclusively work with Joy from Beauty by Joy, Lisa from Kiss and Makeup, and Nina from Nina Nolfi Makeup Artistry for photography clients.

For a present (my sister's birthday and mother's day), Lisa from Kiss and Makeup came gave us a super fun make up lesson and our own eyeshadow palette to use our new skills!  I hope to someday do a "stylized" glamour type of session so for those who may not want to do a boudoir session, may have the opportunity for some pampering and portraits/headshots.  The next few pictures are the "before" and "afters".  I hope to do a lesson with Joy soon.

Moving onto the my favorite type of session... a boudoir!
This boudoir beauty *rocked* her session!  She brought ski boots and accessories to personalize her session.

Next, Nina came by and we talked make up so of course I grabbed a before and after! :)

Ahh the before!

Phew, the after.

Moving onto July & August sessions.....

High Five for Friday! | June 7, 2013

1. Recent vacation.
Our friends Em & Cor got married in Jamaica two weekends ago.  We had a *great* time and we loved sharing our vacation with about 40 of her family members and friends!

2. New 5 dollar hair mask!
My favorite fashion/makeup/etc blogger - The small things blog recently reviewed some hair masks.  I am no hair expert nor do I know too much except after Jamaica my hair was a total mess.  I bought this 5 dollar mask at Kroger's and can see a difference with just one use! No more tangles and mess.. woohoo!

3. Food share.
This weekend is the first of 22 weeks Forrest and I will be getting a supply of vegetables from a local farm.  I am excited to try out some new things and revamp my eating after all the junk I've had recently.

4. A relaxing weekend.
Phew, after lots of busy times.... this weekend we have few plans.  One photo session Sunday for me and a going away party Saturday.  Otherwise not too much :) Next weekend will be jam packed with 2 boudoirs *and* a wedding!  Excited for both :D

5. New lipstick color.
I am all about the coral!

Thanks for visiting :)
I will be posting an online offer for *same day* editing of boudoir sessions later this summer... so go check on my photog FB page!

Carter 9 Week Photo Session | Preston County & Terra Alta, WV Newborn Photographer

Carter and his momma came to visit last weekend!  Larynn wanted a photo session of her 9 week old cutie... and here is what we came up with!...

She had a friend make a few hats and brought along her own! A first for KOP.  Most of my hats are sized for newborns, so only a few of mine fit :)

High five 4 Friday | Feb 1, 2013

1. Go Red for Women is a movement to recognize women && the #1, (NUMBER ONE!) killer which is heart disease.  I work in cardiology as a physician assistant and see every day how women present differently and present later than their male counterparts.  I went to a "Women, Love Your Heart" Luncheon today (american heart assoc said we couldn't use "go red" unless we donated tons of $$!).  We heard two amazing survival stories, one from a woman had an aortic dissection (most patients do not survive as soon as this occurs!) and one woman who had a heart attack at work (in the building adjacent to the hospital nonetheless).  Neither woman fit the bill of your typical heart patient.  The first woman ignored back pain for two years until she finally was diagnosed with the heart problem.  She was a busy mom of 3 and paid  more attention to their needs than her own health.  She is definitely a lucky lady to be here to tell her story today.  She was very witty saying "I'm full of pig parts so I boycott pork!"  The second survivor is a researcher who will use her experience to connect the breech between doctors and researchers.  She had NO risk factors for heart disease and yet still developed a sudden heart attack.  The moral of the story: don't wait, if you experience heart-related symptoms: go see a doctor! (or pa ;)

2. The hope bracelet.  I needed a bit of a pick-me-up a few weeks ago.. and a very best friend of mine sent me this adorable bracelet.  It is rose gold and so simple and dainty.  I love the angel wing and simplicity of the design.  I wear it and remember....."Hope is the little voice you hear whisper maybe when it seems the entire world is screaming never."

3. Forrest went grocery shopping with me late last night!!! If you know me, you know we never do something this simple together.  I can really only remember one other time we did this menial yet essential task together.  I enjoyed it as silly as it sounds (:  He works a lot and works hard to save up for our future house (more to come to the blog soon once we finalize with a contractor for our new place!!).

4.  In the theme of "going red" or wearing red to remember / recognize / raise awareness of women &&  heart disease, I decided to feature my recent favorite wine.  Apothic Red is a blend and is only around ten bucks.  I tried it a wine tasting at Cafe Bacchus last summer.  I didn't expect to see it at Kroger's... then later even at Wal-Mart!  Anyways, I really enjoy it and had a glass earlier tonight while relaxing after a week's work.  Gotta raise that HDL! (good cholesterol)

5. Running.  I somehow convinced Forrest to train for a half marathon for me.  Then I backed out.  Then I jumped back in.  We'll see how it goes... I have been running a few times a week and am trying to increase miles/add endurance/etc and maybe in June I'll run/walk the whole whopping 13.1 miles.  Maybe.

Thanks for reading!!  Enjoy the weekend (:
